Amanda Doran is an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, holding joint appointments in Cardiovascular Medicine and Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology. She directs a lab focused on the immunobiology of atherosclerosis and inflammation resolution, integrating translational research with human tissue analysis.
Her research investigates chronic inflammation mechanisms in cardiometabolic diseases, with an emphasis on why inflammation fails to resolve pathologically. She collaborates with the Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology and Inflammation (VI4) and utilizes both in vitro and in vivo models alongside human clinical samples.
The Doran Lab prioritizes interdisciplinary approaches, working closely with cardiology and biophysics divisions to advance understanding of immune responses in vascular diseases.
