معرفی
Dr Amanda Barnes is a Lecturer in the Department of Biology at the University of York. Her teaching focuses on applying cell and developmental biology principles to Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches combining biology, chemistry, and engineering. She leads tutorials that develop students' skills in scientific communication, literature critique, and writing.
Her research centers on non-destructive imaging techniques to characterize mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) heterogeneity, aiming to distinguish true stem cells within MSC populations. This work integrates morphometric analysis, dynamic metrics, and data interpretation. Dr Barnes served as Principal Investigator for the EPSRC-funded E-TERM Landscape Fellowship (2014–2018), a collaborative project with Professors Paul Genever and Sarah Rimmer. The £250k project explored tissue engineering and regenerative strategies.
Her expertise spans cell biology, microscopy, and translational research in regenerative medicine. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary research at the University of York, fostering connections between biological sciences and engineering disciplines.
