Amal Hamada is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Cairo University and Deputy Director of the Center for Civilizational Studies and Dialogue among Cultures. She is affiliated with the Schlumberger Team, focusing on Middle East and Comparative Politics. Her professional experience includes a Fulbright Scholarship at Lehigh University (2008-09).
Academically, she holds a PhD (2007) from Cairo University with a dissertation on Iran's transition from revolution to statehood, an M.A. (1997) analyzing the role of the Ulama in the 1979 Iranian Revolution, and a B.A. (1989) in Political Science.
Her research focuses on state-society dynamics, military institutions, and unconventional political behaviors. She contributes to the Joint Master's Program CMEPS and engages in projects with the Schlumberger Team, exploring comparative political systems and Middle Eastern governance structures.
Her professional journey includes administrative roles at Cairo University and international collaborations through her Fulbright tenure in the U.S.
