Dr. Amal El Haimeur serves as an Assistant Professor of African and African-American Studies and Coordinator of the African & African Diasporic Language Program at the University of Kansas. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is an ACTFL OPI-certified language tester. Her work bridges linguistic theory with pedagogy, focusing on heritage language education, second language acquisition, and technology-enhanced learning.
