Amadeo Fuenmayor Fernández is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia, holding dual roles as director of the Autonomous Taxation Chair and leader of the EvalPub Public Economic Evaluation research group. His affiliations include the Faculty of Economics, the Commission for Tax Reform in the Valencian Community, and RIFDE. He has advised four doctoral theses and served as Scientific Committee member (2006-2010, 2014-2019) and President (2019-2022) of the Public Economy Meetings.
His research focuses on public economics, taxation policy, microsimulation of tax-benefit systems, and regional economics. Key themes include fiscal federalism, poverty reduction, education economics, and evaluation of public economic policies. Notable projects include analysis of minimum income systems, tax reforms, and nursing home funding models in the Valencian Region.
Recent publications explore automation’s impact on taxation and labor markets, redistributive effects of EU policies, and non-take-up barriers in welfare programs. His work bridges theoretical models with practical policy implementation, often leveraging EUROMOD and microsimulation tools.
