Her current book project, Making the City Brotherly, explores how Black, Puerto Rican, and white activists collaborated to mitigate the effects of economic decline and political conservatism. Ribeiro emphasizes the contestation of Reagan-era policies and their legacies in contemporary issues like housing affordability and racial wealth gaps.
Teaching interests include urban history, environmental history, and police-community dynamics. She advocates for interdisciplinary approaches, blending historical analysis with technology's societal impacts.
