Michigan State Universityمعرفی
Alyssa Morley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University (MSU), with a dual role as coordinator of the Global Educators Cohort Program. She holds a Ph.D. from MSU and specializes in comparative and international education, critical feminist studies, and global education equity. Her research focuses on disrupting global inequities through educational processes, including studies on girls’ schooling in Malawi, study abroad programs for future teachers, and international development policy.
Her work is informed by anthropological methods and field experience with the U.S. Peace Corps and USAID. Morley has secured grants from the Spencer Foundation, Fulbright-Hays, and FLAS Fellowships. She emphasizes transnational collaboration and mentorship, particularly supporting pre-service teachers in integrating global perspectives into their practice.
Key awards include recognition from the Spencer Foundation and Fulbright-Hays Fellowship. Her research outputs explore pandemic impacts on education (e.g., Michigan pre-K teachers during the first year of the pandemic), gendered narratives in Malawi’s education system, and policy critiques of international aid dependencies.
Morley coordinates programs that bridge theory and practice, such as the Global Educators Cohort Program, which prepares teachers to address global educational challenges. Her interdisciplinary approach combines ethnographic fieldwork with policy analysis to advocate for equitable educational systems worldwide.
