Alyssa Michaud is an Associate Professor of Music at Ambrose University, specializing in intersections of music, technology, and culture. Her research explores technological anxieties and their influence on creativity and cultural values across the 20th and 21st centuries.

Her research interests include holographic performances, automation in music, and the cultural impact of technological mediation. She leads a SSHRC Insight Development Grant examining digital technology and live musical performance dynamics in modern society. Her book project, Automatic Artistry, analyzes how technological fears shape creative processes and cultural narratives.
Current projects involve collaborative research with assistants on mediated artistic practices and audience engagement.
