Alyssa Locklear is an Instructional Professor and Undergraduate Program Chair in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas A&M University. She holds a B.S. in Health (2001) and an M.P.H. in Social and Behavioral Health (2003), both from Texas A&M University.
Her research interests focus on health education, curriculum development in kinesiology, and wellness promotion. She teaches courses such as KINE 120: Science of Health & Fitness, HLTH 482: Grant Writing in Health, and KINE 282: Culture of Wellness.
Locklear has authored multiple textbooks including The Introduction to the Science of Health and Fitness (3rd ed., 2021) and curricular materials for the KINE 120 program. Her work emphasizes practical applications of health science education.
- Awards: Recipient of the Emil Mamaliga Teaching Award in 2008 and 2017.
