Alvin Padilla-Babilonia is an Assistant Professor of Law at Villanova University School of Law. His scholarship examines the constitutional legacy of American colonialism and the intersections of law, race, and empire. Previously, he taught at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and clerked for Chief Justice Maite D. Oronoz Rodríguez of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.
His research focuses on how constitutionalism constrains democracy and decolonization processes, with publications appearing in leading journals including the Michigan Law Review and Duke Law Journal.
