Alun Lloyd

Alun Lloyd serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Sciences and holds the Drexel Professorship in the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University. He also directs the Biomathematics Graduate Program, fostering interdisciplinary research at the mathematics-biology interface.

Lloyd specializes in mathematical biology with primary focus on infectious disease epidemiology, particularly mosquito-borne pathogens. His methodological expertise spans dynamical systems, stochastic processes, and ecological modeling to analyze transmission dynamics and intervention strategies. His work bridges theoretical mathematics with public health applications through computational and analytical approaches.
