Altaf Engineer is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona's School of Architecture and core faculty at the Institute on Place, Wellbeing & Performance. He serves as Faculty Advisor for the Master of Science in Architecture with Health and Built Environment concentration.
His research examines the intersection of built environments and human health, with specific focus on daylighting, indoor air quality, and social-behavioral factors in architectural design. He received the 2018 Emerging Legacy Award from the University of Illinois for transformative contributions to the field.
Dr. Engineer teaches courses on Building Technology, Health and Wellbeing in the Built Environment, Social and Behavioral Issues, and Daylighting. He co-founded Architects For Society, a nonprofit developing innovative housing solutions for displaced populations.
