Prof. Alper Altınanahtar is a faculty member at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics. Holding a Professor rank since 2023, he has served in various administrative roles including Deputy Dean (2023), Department Chair (2021), and International Office Coordinator (2020). His academic journey includes positions at Texas Tech University (1998-2004), where he earned his PhD in Economics.
- Education: PhD in Economics (Texas Tech University, 2001-2004), MA in Economics (Texas Tech University, 1999-2001), BA in Public Finance (Ankara University, 1991-1997)
His research focuses on health economics and public finance, with notable work on organ markets, suicide econometrics, and energy economics. He has applied contingent valuation methods to organ allocation and explored the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Turkey's energy markets.
Recent publications address healthcare systems (2014), organ supply chains (2016), and economic modeling in health contexts (2022). His work combines empirical econometric analysis with policy-oriented perspectives.
