Dr. Alokesh Pramanik is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, Perth. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney (USYD), an MEng from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a BSc Eng from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). His research focuses on advanced manufacturing processes, composite materials, biomaterials, and recycling technologies. Dr. Pramanik has extensive experience in machining processes, including work with carbon fiber reinforced polymers and titanium alloys. He has authored numerous publications on nanocomposites, 3D printing, and material sustainability.
His key research interests include bio-printing, polymer materials, and the application of machine learning in material property prediction. He has contributed to projects on recycling post-consumed plastics through 3D printing and the development of eco-friendly manufacturing processes. Dr. Pramanik has held academic and research roles at Curtin University since 2012, prior to which he worked at Deakin University, Swinburne University of Technology, and the University of Sydney.
Dr. Pramanik's work spans experimental and computational studies, with a focus on improving material performance and sustainability. His recent publications emphasize nanocomposite synthesis, tribological behavior of biomaterials, and advanced manufacturing techniques. He is actively involved in collaborative projects with industry partners to bridge research and practical applications.
