معرفی
Alo Basu is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department Neuroscience at the College of the Holy Cross. He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University and focuses on neurobiology of learning, stress-related neuroplasticity, and neuropsychiatric disorder risk factors. His work bridges neuroscience education and translational research, emphasizing integrative STEM approaches in undergraduate curricula. He has contributed to initiatives like the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience (FUN) to advance DEI priorities in academic environments.
Research interests span molecular mechanisms of memory, environmental influences on behavior, and pharmacological impacts on neurotransmitter systems. Key areas include NMDA receptor dysfunction in schizophrenia, synaptic plasticity modulation via co-agonists, and the neurobiological effects of environmental enrichment. His interdisciplinary focus extends to curriculum design that fosters critical thinking and ethical awareness in neuroscience education.
Recent publications highlight educational innovations (e.g., embodied curriculum mapping) and collaborative projects on undergraduate neuroscience pedagogy. His work demonstrates a dual commitment to advancing neuroscientific knowledge while improving accessibility and inclusion in STEM education.
