Allyson Packer is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2016) and a BFA from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (2009). Her work critically explores intersections between technology, culture, and human experience through experimental video, installations, and mixed media.

Research interests focus on digital aesthetics, virtual reality, and sociocultural critique of technological progress. Projects like Looming, Towering... (2025) use video and light to examine global cultural collapse, while Outer Darkness (2023) critiques streaming platforms through hotel furniture installations. Collaborations with Jesse Fisher appear in works like Proscenium (2021) and Elysia marginata (2023).
Recent exhibitions include installations at 1698 Galisteo and SMU Meadows Library. Works often combine programmed LEDs, VR modeling, and site-specific interventions to interrogate contemporary digital existence.
