Allyson Conrad is a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Waterloo, specializing in English language instruction. Born in Alberta, Canada, she earned her BA in English Literature from Ambrose University (2009) and an MA in Applied Linguistics with a focus on TESL from the University of Leicester (2017). Her work spans diverse teaching contexts, including communications for STEM, Tech, and Trades, academic skills development, and language instruction for newcomers to Canada. She holds professional certifications OCELT and ICELT and is actively involved in educator communities.

Her research focuses on sociolinguistic aspects of language education materials, equitable assessment practices, and supporting student acculturation. Allyson has presented at conferences such as AAC&U (2022), GIFT (2021), and TESL Ontario (2019-2020). She actively contributes to language educator communities and has served on executive boards. Personal interests include Korean language, outdoor activities, travel, and community volunteering.
