Dr. Allison Rank is Associate Professor and Department Chair of Political Science at SUNY Oswego's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Washington (2014), with expertise in American politics, youth engagement, and pop culture/politics intersections.
Her research examines youth political participation, civic engagement pedagogy, and representations of power/gender in popular media. Rank founded and manages Vote Oswego, an award-winning campus-wide voter mobilization program that trains students in campaign strategies.
Current projects include a monograph on gender/power dynamics in female-led crime narratives and an edited volume on civic engagement pedagogy. Her publications analyze innovative teaching models, accessibility in digital engagement, and political themes in media like Black Panther.
