University of Massachusetts Amherstمعرفی
Allison H. Roy is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She holds a Ph.D. from The University of Georgia (2004), an M.S. from the same institution (2000), and a B.S. from Allegheny College (1998). Her research focuses on anthropogenic impacts on aquatic ecosystems, particularly urbanization effects on stream fish assemblages, watershed conservation strategies, and restoration practices. She is affiliated with the School of Earth and Sustainability and maintains an office at 317 Holdsworth Education.
Her research interests include characterizing dissolved organic matter in urban streams, assessing restoration success via hydrological models, and exploring climate change implications for freshwater species like river herring. She collaborates on projects involving dam removal, lake ice dynamics, and mussel conservation. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary solutions to urban stream challenges and integrates field studies with computational tools for data analysis.
Recent articles highlight trends in urban hydrology, limnology, and species-specific restoration strategies. While no scientific awards are listed, her contributions to sustainable water management and ecosystem restoration are evident through her extensive publication record. She advises students in environmental conservation programs and engages in community-based watershed initiatives.
