Allison Blyler is a Senior Lecturer at Boston University, teaching courses such as WR 120/152 'Public Gardens and Urban Wilds: Boston’s Natural History' and WR120/150 'American Homestead.' She co-directs the Boston Now curricular initiative with Holly Schaaf and teaches 'The World in a Pond,' a Mediated Integration course focusing on local/global connections to urban nature. Since 2009, she has served as a Writing Associate at Sargent College.
Her education includes a B.A. in English from Princeton University (1988) and an M.A. in English from the University of Virginia (1990). Her research and teaching interests center on urban ecology, environmental narratives, and place-based learning.
