Dr. Allen Robinson is Dean of the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering and Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University. His research addresses air pollution impacts on climate, health, and policy, with focus on emission characterization, atmospheric chemistry, and mitigation strategies for energy systems. Previously, he directed Carnegie Mellon's Africa campus and chaired Mechanical Engineering.
Research includes techno-policy analysis of carbon capture, electric grid storage, and transportation electrification. Leadership roles encompass directing EPA's Center for Air, Climate, and Energy Solutions and presidency of the American Association for Aerosol Research.
Honors include AAAS/AGU/AAAR fellowships, CMU's University Professorship (2020), and major awards for aerosol research. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.
