Professor Alla Borisyuk is affiliated with the Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah. Her primary research focuses on computational neuroscience, combining mathematical and computational tools to study neurons and brain functions. She is involved in both theoretical and experimental-collaborative projects, including work on the auditory system, odor coding in olfactory systems, and oscillations in noisy neural networks.
Affiliations include the Interdepartmental Program in Neuroscience, the Organization for Computational Neurosciences (OCNS), SIAM Life Sciences, and the Society for Neuroscience (SFN). She leads initiatives like the Mathematical Biology program, Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), and the University of Utah AWM Student Chapter.
