Aliza le Roux

Aliza le Roux is an Associate Professor at the University of the Free State's Department of Zoology and Entomology and serves as Assistant Dean in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences on the Qwaqwa Campus. She specializes in behavioural and cognitive ecology, focusing on animal responses to environmental risks and opportunities.

• Research areas include acoustic communication in montane ecosystems, black-backed jackal ecology, and samango monkey responses to human disturbance.
• Led interdisciplinary projects under the Afromontane Research Unit (ARU) and collaborates with Appalachian State University on mentorship programs.
