Alissa Freeman is an Instructor of Music (Lecturer) at Beloit College, specializing in piano pedagogy and performance. She holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University, and M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in Piano Pedagogy/Performance from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Her office is located in the Hendricks Center for the Arts.
Her research focuses on breaking barriers to inclusivity in classical music through projects like ||:HerClassical:||, which promotes works by 18th-century women composers. She has founded initiatives such as The 5pm Series to support musicians during crises.
Notable awards include the Presser Award and Rackham Fellowship. She maintains Panoramic Piano Studio in Madison, WI, and actively engages in music entrepreneurship. Personal interests include hiking with her family.
