معرفی
Alison Murray is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Science. Her research focuses on fish systematics, phylogenetic studies using osteological characters, and the paleobiogeography of fossil teleost fishes. She has expertise in marine Cretaceous fish from North America and freshwater fish from Tertiary Africa and Asia.
She teaches ZOOL 224: Vertebrate Diversity and ZOOL 405: Biology of Fishes, emphasizing comparative morphology, classification, and ecology of vertebrates and fishes. Her work integrates anatomical and geological data to reconstruct ancient ecosystems and evolutionary patterns.
Recent research includes studies on Eocene marine deposits of the Arabian Platform, Miocene fish faunas in Ukraine, and Cretaceous sturgeon fossils in Alberta. Her publications highlight contributions to understanding fish evolution, paleoenvironments, and biogeographical dynamics across diverse geological periods and regions.
