Alison Haney is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Health Behavior at the University at Buffalo's School of Public Health and Health Professions. Her research focuses on substance use (alcohol and cannabis), affective processes, and sociocultural influences on mental health, utilizing ambulatory assessment and mobile health interventions.
- Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University, MS in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University, Graduate Certificate in Psychological Statistics from Purdue University, BA in Psychology and Spanish from Grand Valley State University.
Her research leverages quantitative methods and ambulatory technology to study daily life health behaviors and develop scalable mobile interventions for substance use prevention, including alcohol-impaired driving mitigation strategies. She previously completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Missouri's NIAAA T32 training program and a predoctoral internship at Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
