Alison D Swift

Dr. Alison Swift is an Assistant Professor and Concentration Director of MSN-Nursing Education in the Advanced Nursing Practice and Education department at the College of Nursing, East Carolina University. She has taught at ECU since 2011.

Research Focus: Psychological and physiological stress in women with reproductive trauma, including infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy loss. Studies cortisol, telomere length, and integrative health approaches to improve quality of life.

2025-2024 Trends: Recent work examines COVID-19 pandemic impacts on miscarriage-related stress, adverse childhood experiences, and marital benefit factors in reproductive trauma. Emphasis on biomarkers and mental health.
