Dr Alisa Stevens is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, joining in January 2018 after prior roles at the Universities of Southampton and Kent. Her research focuses on imprisonment experiences, rehabilitation prospects for individuals serving long sentences for violent or sexual offenses, and the role of treatment programs like the democratic therapeutic community. She employs qualitative methods and psychosocial theories to analyze criminal behavior and personal change.
Education: DPhil in Law and MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford. Administrative roles include Chair of the School's Quality and Standards Committee, Chair of the Student Cases Committee, and elected member of the University’s Academic Standards and Quality Committee.
