معرفی
Dr. Alireza Salami is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Florida State University (FSU), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. He leads the Salami Lab, which focuses on the cognitive neuroscience of aging through advanced neuroimaging techniques. He is currently recruiting a graduate student for Fall 2025.
- Ph.D., Umeå University (Sweden), 2012
Research interests include understanding neural mechanisms of cognitive decline in aging, particularly episodic memory. Key areas of focus are:
- Inter-individual differences in cognitive aging
- Longitudinal multimodal neuroimaging studies
- Modifiable neurobiological factors (e.g., dopamine)
His lab uses fMRI and PET to explore brain functional dynamics, structural-functional correspondences, and lifespan dopamine trajectories. He leads one of the world's largest MRI/PET studies on aging, funded by prestigious grants.
No scientific awards explicitly listed in the provided text.
Current projects investigate network-level brain function, structural-functional relationships, and pharmacological intervention targets. The lab integrates structural, functional, and molecular neuroscience approaches.
