Alireza Qazizadeh

Dr. Alireza Qazizadeh is a part-time Researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology working one day per week in the Department of Engineering Mechanics within the School of Engineering Sciences. His expertise centers on vehicle dynamics, vibration control, and experimental test rig design, with particular specialization in rail vehicle systems.

Dr. Qazizadeh completed his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with specialization in Rolling Stock from the University of Science and Technology in 2010. He then pursued advanced studies at the Marcus Wallenberg Laboratory (MWL) at KTH, graduating in 2012, and earned his PhD in Vibration and Dynamic Control of Rail Vehicles from KTH's Rail Vehicles Division in 2017.

His research spans three primary interconnected domains: Vehicle Dynamics and Vibration with focus on rail applications; Condition Monitoring and AI/Machine Learning for predictive maintenance systems; and Experimental Test Rig Design, where he leads student teams developing an advanced Roller Rig that will be one of its kind in Nordic countries. His work bridges theoretical understanding with practical engineering applications.

At KTH, Dr. Qazizadeh teaches Rail Vehicle Dynamics (SD2313) and Applied Vehicle Dynamics Control (SD2231) while supervising Master's and PhD students. He also serves as a Senior Assessor on railway industry standards, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance for railway services and products when not at the university.
