Alina Roitberg

Alina Roitberg is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Stuttgart since June 2023, leading the Intelligent Sensing and Perception Group. She is also a faculty member of the International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS) and part of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS).

Her research focuses on advancing deep learning methods for data-efficient, uncertainty-aware, and adaptive visual/multimodal perception to address challenges in autonomous driving, robotics, and assistive systems. Key themes include open-world recognition, simulation-enhanced learning, and human activity modeling.

• Education: PhD (summa cum laude) in Computer Science from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (2017-2021), M.Sc. in Computer Science from Technical University Munich (2013-2015), B.Sc. in Computer Science from Technical University Munich (2009-2012).

Recent projects include Smart Villages (visual tree recognition funded by LGL Baden-Württemberg) and Visual Semantic Scene Understanding within the IntCDC excellence cluster (DFG-funded). She has co-authored papers presented at ECCV and accepted at NeurIPS, with a keynote talk at ICRA 2024 on long-term human motion prediction.
