Alina Kadyrova

Alina Kadyrova is a Lecturer in Innovation and Honorary Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR), Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. She holds a PhD in Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy from Alliance Manchester Business School, an MSc in Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovations (summa cum laude), and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia). Her research focuses on social/inclusive innovation dynamics in cities, emphasizing contextual factors influencing innovation processes beyond traditional business sectors. Alina teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in responsible management innovation, economics, and the geography of innovation.

Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly addressing urban development and inclusive systems. She has contributed to projects like Innovate UK’s 'Global Review of Diversity and Inclusion' (2018–2019). Key research themes include university roles in urban regeneration, dynamic capabilities in non-profits, and social innovation ecosystems in European cities.

Alina has presented at international conferences, including discussions on social innovations in Europe and quadruple helix models. Her publications analyze urban innovation ecosystems, university-led innovation spaces, and the structural foundations of social innovation in non-profit contexts. She has supervised doctoral research on territorial aspects of social innovation emergence.
