Alina A.M. Zeller is a Doctoral Fellow at the Max-Weber-Kolleg for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies at the University of Erfurt. Her research focuses on the cultural transfer of German traditions, particularly Bavarian customs associations (Trachtenvereine) in the USA between 1880–1930, examining how these organizations negotiated German-American ethnicity and tradition during anti-German sentiments.

Zeller’s dissertation, supported by the Jutta Heidemann Foundation, analyzes performative practices of Trachtenvereine using historical Ego-Documents, association records, and German-American newspapers. Her work bridges cultural history, migration studies, and transnational identity formation.
She has contributed to exhibitions like Sehnsucht nach Heimat at the Museum of Füssen and published on beer caricatures by Constantin Beyer, reflecting her interdisciplinary engagement with cultural representation and social dynamics.
