Alicia Williams is an Associate Teaching Professor in the School of Marine and Environmental Programs at the University of New England. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Roger Williams University (2008) and a Ph.D. in Oceanography from Texas A&M University (2015). Her research spans coastal estuaries, coral reefs, open ocean circulation, and deep-sea sediments, with a focus on microbial community structure and functional roles in marine ecosystems.
Her research investigates microbial ecology, phytoplankton dynamics, and oil spill impacts using cellular and molecular approaches. Current interests include marine microbial interactions, biogeochemical cycling, and pollution responses in diverse marine environments.
