Alicia Seiger is a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy and an Affiliate at Bank of America. She also serves as an occasional lecturer and directs the climate program at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). Her expertise bridges climate, technology, policy, finance, and innovation. She has held leadership roles at Stanford Law, the Graduate School of Business, and the Doerr School for Sustainability, focusing on sustainability and energy finance initiatives.
Dr. Seiger holds a BA from Duke University in a self-designed curriculum combining environmental science, policy, and cultural anthropology, and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her work includes advising California and New York governors, pension fund leaders, and NGOs on climate risk and resilience strategies.
Her research emphasizes emissions liability management, net-zero pathways, and climate-aligned investment strategies. Recent publications explore Scope 2 emissions frameworks, climate portfolio management, and decarbonization finance mechanisms. She co-authored Settling Climate Accounts: Navigating the Road to Net Zero, analyzing historical climate action and future recommendations.
Seiger’s advisory roles include boards of Prime Coalition and The E-liability Institute, and she serves on the editorial board of the Oxford Open Climate Change Journal. She has pioneered initiatives like TerraPass and co-founded Stanford Professionals in Energy (SPIE).
