Alicia L. Hinton

Alicia L. Hinton is an Adjunct Professor of Law at San Joaquin College of Law, where she teaches Consumer Law. She founded the Law Office of A.L. Hinton in 2016, specializing in consumer protection law—the only firm in the Central Valley dedicated solely to this area. Prior to this, she worked at Kemnitzer, Barron, and Krieg, and volunteered with Central California Legal Services.

Her research and practice focus on combatting unfair/deceptive business practices, legislative reform of consumer protection laws, and airline industry regulations. She has influenced legislative changes, published on airline consumer rights, and represents clients in individual and class-action cases in state and federal courts.

Ms. Hinton actively mentors new consumer protection attorneys and speaks nationally on consumer law. She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and Consumer Attorneys of California.
