Alicia L Soueid

Ms. Alicia L. Soueid is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). She has held various roles since 2011, including Academic Advisor, Lower Level French Coordinator, and MAVS 1000 Instructor. Her teaching focuses on French language, phonetics, and Francophone culture. She has been recognized with multiple awards for teaching and advising, including the Regent's Outstanding Teaching Award Nomination (2016) and Outstanding French Lecturer of the Year (2016, 2009).

Education: MA in French (UTA, 1997) and BBA in Accounting (UTA, 1987). She also holds a Certificate in French-to-English Translation from New York University and is certified in creating inclusive online learning environments (ACUE, 2025).

Her service includes roles on the Modern Languages Recruitment Task Force, French Faculty Search Committee, and as a university sponsor for La Société Francophone. She has presented on open educational resources and contributed to curriculum development in French studies.
