Alicia Kunin-Batson

Alicia Kunin-Batson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School and an affiliate faculty member at the Institute of Child Development. She serves as Associate Director of Research within the Division of Clinical Behavioral Neurosciences and Section Head of the Pediatric Neuropsychology Program.

Her educational background includes:

• PhD in Clinical Psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science (Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School)
• Internship and postdoctoral training in pediatric psychology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
• 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at University of Minnesota

Dr. Kunin-Batson's research examines neurocognitive and psychosocial influences on health behaviors, with emphasis on biological mechanisms linking early stress to future health risks. Her clinical work focuses on neuropsychological evaluations for children with brain tumors, pediatric solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and anemias. As co-chair of the Neuropsychological and Psychosocial Complications Taskforce for the Children’s Oncology Group, she shapes national guidelines for long-term cancer survivor care.

She has secured NIH funding as PI/co-I across multiple institutes including NIDDK, NICHD, NHLBI, NCI, and NCCIH, demonstrating sustained research impact in pediatric health outcomes.

Dr. Kunin-Batson provides clinical services through the Outpatient Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Comprehensive Consultative Clinic.
