Alicia J. Davis is a Professor from Practice at the University of Michigan Law School, where she teaches corporate governance, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions. She previously served as Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives (2016–2018), launching the Law School’s Problem Solving Initiative. Her professional background includes law practice at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, investment banking roles at Goldman Sachs and Raymond James, and leadership in corporate strategy at Lear Corporation, where she currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer.
She holds a BS from Florida A&M University (summa cum laude), an MBA from Harvard University, and a JD from Yale University. Her research focuses on corporate law intersections with business strategy, including market efficiency and retail investor dynamics. Key publications include analyses of corporate governance critiques and strategic legal education.
