Dr. Alicia Doerflinger is a Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at Marietta College, where she has taught since 2007. Her research focuses on the physiological and behavioral mechanisms underlying food intake, particularly how children and animal models develop feeding behaviors, food preferences, and eating habits that influence lifelong body weight regulation.
She has published in journals such as The International Journal of Obesity, Hormones & Behavior, and Physiology & Behavior, investigating the effects of food additives like artificial sweeteners, caloric sweeteners, and caffeine on dietary patterns. Dr. Doerflinger has presented her findings at international conferences including the Society for Neuroscience and the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior.
