Dr. Alicia C. Stapp is an Associate Professor of Health and Physical Education and Assistant Chair of the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Mississippi's School of Education. She coordinates the Wellness and Physical Activity Endorsement program for Elementary and Special Education majors and co-created the Growing Healthy Minds, Bodies, and Communities curriculum. Her work focuses on integrating wellness and physical activity into preK-8 education to address childhood obesity and sedentary behaviors while enhancing academic achievement.
Education: Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership (Nova Southeastern University, 2013), M.Ed. in Health & Physical Education, B.A. in Social Science Education.
Research emphasizes curriculum development, teacher effectiveness, and policy impact on student wellness. Prior experience includes 12 years in Florida public schools and adjunct teaching at University of Central Florida. Currently serves as program coordinator and curriculum developer, emphasizing community-engaged learning approaches.
