Alice Wilson’s artistic practice explores landscape, materiality, and the use of reclaimed elements such as furniture, gates, benches, and treehouses. Her work investigates ideas of home, memory, and the transformation of found materials. She is particularly interested in the journey of making, where nails, paint, and splinters retain traces of prior use. Her current research focuses on integrating text as a material medium, using creative writing as a mode of inquiry and artistic testing. This was recently presented in her solo exhibition The Matter Facts (2023).
Her practice is deeply informed by site-specific engagement, residencies, and participatory processes, often blurring the boundaries between studio work, public intervention, and community collaboration.
The 15 most recent artistic outputs reflect a consistent engagement with sculpture, installation, drawing, and conceptual framing. Themes include material memory, site responsiveness, narrative construction, and the interplay between the domestic and the architectural. Her work frequently appears in solo and group exhibitions across the UK, Europe, and internationally, with venues including domobaal gallery, Saatchi Gallery, and Pictura in Montreal.
