Alice Elliot is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at Goldsmiths, University of London. She specializes in Mediterranean migrations, Islam, hope, and intimacy, conducting fieldwork in Morocco, Tunisia, and Italy. Her research explores gender, kinship, and theological-political imagination.
- PhD in Anthropology from University College London (2012)
- Former positions: Lecturer at University of Bristol, Leverhulme Trust Fellow at UCL, Marie Curie Fellow at KU Leuven.
Her research interests center on migration's social and intimate dimensions, focusing on how migration shapes kinship, hope, and safety. She leads the project Profiling Inside Out, addressing racial profiling in Italy and the UK. She teaches the MA in Social Anthropology and chairs the Anthropology Learning and Teaching Committee.
Her articles and books, including The Outside: Migration as Life in Morocco (2021), critically examine migration's lived realities and its intersections with cultural and political structures.
