Assoc Prof Alice Christudason is an Associate Professor of Real Estate at the NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on property law, urban planning, and housing policy, particularly the legal frameworks governing collective sales of real estate and their socio-economic impacts. She examines issues such as minority rights protection, environmental considerations in redevelopment, and the balance between property rights and urban rejuvenation goals.
Her work also extends to comparative law studies, analyzing how Singapore’s legislation aligns with practices in Hong Kong, Europe, and other regions. She has contributed to debates on housing rights, banking regulations, and the ethical implications of redevelopment policies.
In teaching, Prof Christudason emphasizes student-centered learning, aiming to instill critical thinking and legal analysis skills in non-law students. Her modules, such as Real Estate Development and Investment Law, focus on Singapore’s unique land scarcity challenges and their legal repercussions. She employs case studies, peer learning, and interactive methods to make abstract legal concepts accessible.
Her publications span over two decades, addressing topics like strata ownership disputes, collective sale dynamics, and pedagogical strategies in interdisciplinary education. She co-authored influential works on termination legislation, property valuation in collective sales, and housing rights frameworks.
