Alice Akunyili

Alice Akunyili, MD is the Assistant Dean for Foundational Educator Development and Associate Professor of Basic Sciences at Roseman University, a position she assumed in September 2023. Her career spans over a decade in medical education, with prior roles including Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine and Assistant Professor at Florida International University. She holds an MD from Victor Babeş University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara.

Her research focuses on integrating technology into medical education, curriculum innovation, reproductive health, and promoting diversity in medical training. She has developed active learning strategies using self-paced video content and pioneered hybrid learning models to expand access for non-traditional students. Her teaching expertise spans Physiology, Pathophysiology, Behavioral Science, and Clinical Anatomy.

Recent publications emphasize educational technology, including microlecture design and curriculum development. She is actively involved in professional organizations like the International Association of Medical Science Educators and community initiatives such as Black Physicians of Utah, advocating for health equity and mentoring future physicians.
