Ali S. Alshami is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of North Dakota. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University. With over ten years of industry experience in research and development at chemical manufacturing corporations, he brings practical expertise to his academic work.
His research focuses on membrane technology for molecular separation, including polymeric and bioinspired membranes for applications in catalysis, energy research, medical applications, water purification, and gas separation. Additional research areas include biocatalysis using enzymes and cells for chemical/pharmaceutical production and dielectric properties of biomaterials for electromagnetic heating applications.
Courses taught include Separations, Engineering Statistics, Biochemical Engineering, and Design of Engineering Experiments.
