Dr. Ali Rkein is a Lecturer in Accounting at Charles Darwin University's Faculty of Arts and Society, specializing in postgraduate accounting course coordination and teaching across financial, management, and auditing disciplines. With over 20 years of teaching experience globally, he holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting/finance from Australian and U.S. institutions. Professional affiliations include CPA Australia and CAANZ, with prior service as CPA NT Divisional Council Councillor.
Research Focus: Public sector accounting reforms, sustainability reporting in government, indigenous accounting practices, auditing methodologies, and accounting education. Active in supervising two PhD students and reviewing research proposals/journals. His work aligns with UN SDGs related to sustainable institutions and responsible consumption.
Key Contributions: Published in peer-reviewed journals like International Journal of Business and Social Science and Archives of Business Research, focusing on topics such as banking financial statement utilization, public sector performance management, and IFRS implementation challenges in Lebanon.
