Alhassan Sulemana

Alhassan Sulemana is a PhD social work student at Memorial University and holds the position of Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Social Work, University of Ghana. He earned his BSW (2006-2010) and MPhil in Social Work (2013-2016) from the University of Ghana. His professional roles include school social work at Methodist Junior High School (Bolgatanga, Ghana), graduate assistantship (2014-2018), and fieldwork coordination/supervision at the University of Ghana.

Research focuses on family welfare and migration, particularly the health challenges faced by internal female migrants in Ghana, and aging issues arising from the erosion of Ghana’s extended family system. He has published extensively on these topics.

Teaching and fieldwork supervision experience includes coordinating student placements, supervising fieldwork, and grading reports. His work bridges academic research and practical social work challenges in Ghana.
