Alfredo Cuervo Pando is an Associate Professor at the University of Murcia, affiliated with the Department of Fine Arts within the Faculty of Fine Arts. He holds a Doctorate from the Universitat Politècnica de València, completing his thesis on calcographic printing techniques in 2001 under Dr. Miguel Ángel Ríos Palomares. His research focuses on innovative art materials, sustainable practices, and pedagogical strategies in visual arts education.
Prof. Cuervo Pando has contributed to educational reforms at the university level, including Bologna Process adaptations and mobile learning models for art education. He has pioneered projects using recycled botanical materials for artistic creation, such as peach leaf pulp sculptures, emphasizing eco-conscious practices. His work also explores critical spatial theory through Paul Virilio's concepts and safety protocols in artistic material use.
He is part of the Art, Public Space and Landscape research group and previously contributed to Investigación en las Artes Plásticas. His teaching spans early childhood education module design and innovative programs addressing technology-related youth behavioral issues. His art therapy methodologies have been analyzed within Spain's professional contexts.
