Alfredo Biffi is an Affiliate Professor of Information Systems at SDA Bocconi School of Management (Bocconi University), an Associate Professor of Organization at Università dell’Insubria, and a Professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. He leads Project Management educational paths at SDA Bocconi and previously directed the Information Systems Department (2004-2006) and served as Vice Director (2001-2003).
He holds a degree in Business Economics from Università Bocconi with a thesis in Office Automation and a Wood Badge certificate.
His research centers on information systems, process design, and project management, specifically examining organizational evolution in project-based logic, competence profile development, ICT for innovation-oriented structures, and entrepreneurship. His interdisciplinary work bridges digital transformation, change management, and organizational behavior across finance, public administration, and manufacturing sectors.
Recent publications (2018-2024) reveal consistent focus on applying project management frameworks to judicial reform, technology parks, and smart work paradigms, with emerging trends in systemic value management for sustainability and humanistic organizational approaches.
He served on editorial boards for Economia&Management and ETAS Milano for over twenty years, currently sits on AICE’s scientific committee, and referees for Economia Aziendale Web and the International Journal of Engineering Management and Economics.
Professor Biffi has led extensive consulting and research projects in banking, public administration, and manufacturing, developing educational frameworks for project management while mentoring through SDA Bocconi’s programs.
